Miracles come when you brave the heat

Hello Everyone,

This week has been very challenging, but also good. We have been able to get set appointments with a lot more people...which is great! The only bad thing is that out of 6 set appointments, 6 fell through. What is this?! haha. We're not losing faith though. We know that if we keep being persistent and diligent everything will work out.

Major miracle for the week...first to back up a little bit- a couple weeks ago we met a guy named Shawn and his two kids at the park. He started the conversation with us by asking about the "bible" he saw us carrying. We talked with him for a while about what we believed and he said he would come check out the church sometime. He has been taking his family to different church's but he said that none of them are "home". So they're still searching. After we left we were disappointed in ourselves for not getting his contact information. We could feel like he was super ready to hear about the gospel.

Now fast forward to this past week...we were walking along our street trying to find people to talk to when we saw this guy cross the street a little ways infront of us. He was walking towards us and my companion tells me "that's Shawn!" He was so excited to see us and we were extremely excited to see him. He started telling us that his 7 year old daughter has been carrying the Book of Mormon we gave them everywhere she goes...even to bed. She has been reading it and loving it. She would always read the Bible, which is impressive for her age. He said that he was surprised at how much the Book of Mormon talks about Jesus Christ. We were smart missionaries this time and got his contact information and set up an appointment for the next day (which we know what happened with that appt, but we're still not giving up). We were so happy to have bumped into him again. Definitely a tender mercy from the Lord.

We went tracting this week (yes we're insane to have tracted in 100+ degree weather) and ran into an awesome guy. Isaac let us in immediately and we got to talk to him for a few minutes and we were able to set up another time to meet with him on Wednesday. Three cheers for the red white and blue! One appointment is bound to go through for us this week :)

Sorry, but that is all I can think of for this week. Good things are still in the making. I know that we will find people to teach and bring into the fold. It just takes diligence and of course our favorite virtue...patience! Have a wonderful week! Enjoy the fireworks, family, and freedom!
